In Person: Follow map and stop in at the Stagecoach Stop on the north end of town. Ask for Ruth.
You can use mapquest to obtain driving directions, but following are directions from Merced and from Fresno.
To reach Hornitos from Merced, take Hwy 59 north 25 miles to Snelling. Ccontinue through Snelling, past Henderson Park. Drive 5 miles and turn right just past Merced Falls sub-station. Once you reach the Merced River bridge turn right again on the Hornitos. Drive 8 miles to Hornitos. Once you reach Hornitos turn left on High street. Park where you can.
If you are coming from the south, go north on Highway 99 past Chowchilla.
Pass by the Highway Patrol weigh station and the City truck stop. Turn right on Plainsburg Road and continue to the town of Planada and the intersection of Plainsburg Road and Highway 140 (about 7 miles).
Turn right on Highway 140 and continue to Cathey’s Valley (approximately 13 miles). Turn left on to Hornitos Road (Oasis on the left and gas station on the right). Continue on Hornitos Road to Hornitos (about 8 miles). The road will fork but stay to the left.
In Hornitos turn right on High Street and park where you can.
